About Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

 The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established at Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha Vidyalaya on 1st October, 2005 and constituted as per National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recommendations.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of SNVMV is a task force of Core committee and other committee coordinators.The main aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious and consistent improvement in the overall performance of the College and it make sure the implementation of quality initiatives through continuous reviews and regular audits and meetings.

Objectives

  1. Our goal is to create a system that encourages deliberate and cohesive efforts to enhance the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  2. We aim to foster a culture of quality and excellence within the institution by implementing measures that promote best practices and continual improvement.

 Vision

Establish quality by implementing a comprehensive approach that includes self-assessment, external quality evaluations, as well as initiatives for promotion and sustenance.

  • To make a significant and meaningful contribution towards academic excellence
  • To usher in quality by working out intervention strategies to enhance performance
  • To optimize and integrate modern methods of teaching and learning

Highlights of IQAC

IQAC has co-ordinated a no. of activities in the college including various Academic and Administrative Audits, Digitalizing the feedback system, Conducting various Faculty development programs, Conferences, webinars and Guest lectures, Staff development programs and various other initiatives.

 The IQAC of SNVMV is chaired by the principal and constituted with other faculty members.

Quality assurance and enhancement being an ongoing campaign, the IQAC of the college organizes workshops and seminars on quality related themes and the various programs of the college.

Functions of IQAC:

  • Creating and implementing quality benchmarks for evaluating the institution’s development and progress.
  • Establishing parameters for academic and administrative activities within the institution.
  • Enabling the establishment of a learner-centric environment.
  • Collecting and analyzing feedback from all stakeholders regarding institutional processes related to quality.
  • Sharing information on various quality parameters with all stakeholders.
  • Organizing workshops and seminars on quality-related topics, both within and outside the institution, and promoting quality circles.
  • Documenting various programs and activities aimed at enhancing quality.
  • Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) in accordance with NAAC guidelines and parameters.

Activities:

 Feedback: Feedback collection is a key part of the quality assurance process and the IQAC plays a very important role in this regard too. Teacher feedback is taken by the principal’s office twice a semester using anonymous online forms.

In addition to that IQAC collects Curriculum Feedback from stake holder to enhance the Teaching and Learning Quality.

Orientation Program: series of Orientation has been organized for incoming and outgoing students to facilitate students about college and opportunities in higher education.

The Continuous Internal Assessment tests were conducted to monitor the progress of the students. According to the University norms assignments and seminars are given to the students. Based on the performances of the students remedial classes are conducted. Students’ Seminar, Group discussions & Quiz programmes are conducted regularly. Project based learning, peer learning, ICT oriented teaching are used. The best out going students are identified based on their academic performance, co-curricular activities and extra-curricular activities and awards. This motivates and encourages the students to compete well in all their endeavor. In every department, practical learning is enabled, organizing intra and inter department competitions and giving special care to weak students. The students are encouraged to organize and co-ordinate department activities and self-development activities like seminars, management games etc. this helps the students to improve their leadership qualities and organizing skills. The best student coordinators and organizers are identified and encouraged
