Department History:-

Professor Zubadia yezdani department of History of  O.U  took six girls and started B.A Urdu medium classes from UWCA college ,Kachiguda in 1957,This was merged with exhibition society in 1962,at exhibition ground and  got affiliation   from Osmania University at  the time PUC , B.A and B.SC, Classes started here Urdu Second language and  modern language.

Intermediate classes for second language urdu were started from the year 1969.

Benefits Of Urdu Language

 As a second language in intermediate and degree students.

  • Govt of Telelangana declares Urdu as second official language.
  • Some students also landed a Govt job as a urdu teacher in Telangana Minorities Residential
  • All groups of students who take Urdu as a second language can get easy admission to all higher studies and get the Jobs In Govt and private sectors it is very easy to learn urdu with no previous Knowledge of Urdu.
  • Student who started from the elementary level had passed their exams with highest marks .
  • All the govt competitive exams like NEET,TPPSC etc are conducted in urdu language also to get admission in prestigious course like MBBS,BUMS & civil services.

COURSE PLAN:

  • Teaching second language Urdu for 1st & 2nd year intermediate students as per Board of Intermediate Syllabus(Prose,Poetry,Grammar,Nondetail).
  • Teaching second language Urdu for 1st,2nd &3rd year degree students as per Choice Based Credit Grading System (CBCS)
  • Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) Hyderabad.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

  • Introducing & enriching language & higher literature.
  • Exposing them to past, present morals & ethics of society.
  • Teaching them the emergence of literature from society behavior.

COURSE OUTCOMES:

  • He or she will be able to know the finest part of Urdu language in respect of its grammar, spelling &pronunciation of the word.
  • The poetry part of language is very rich & attractive, the prose part leaves an mesmerizing effect on its students
  • In the end this language teaches Ganga Jamuna culture of the country.

  1. Two day multilingual &multidimensional national seminar on 10 of August titled “Language &Literature their significance to present day society”.
  2. Two Day National E-conference on “Language & literature” on 28th &29th may 2020 at SNVMV.
  3. Conducted literary competitions, Inter collegiate competitions for students witness a great footfall from among various colleges.
  4. Department of languages organized 2 day National E- conference on language & literature on 28th and 29th may 2020 at S.N.V.M.V

  9. 14th august 2022:- Department organized Essay Writing competition for intermediate students on the occasion of “Azadi ka amrit mahaotsav” Topic:-Life of freedom Fighters
  10. Girls Participated out of which 3 girls got 1st,2nd & 3rd prizes.
  11. 30 November 2022:- Department of languages organized Inter collegiate competitons for UG students on the occasion of Diamond jubilee celebrations .the competitions include (105 STUDENTS PARTICIPATATED FROM DIFFERENT COLLEGES)

  • Students participated in many literary competiotns in college & ofcampus colleges as well & had won many prizes in different fields.
  • Essay Writing Competition organized by Govt. Degree College for Women’s Sangareddy on 8th November 2020 on the topic “Insani Zindagi par Corona Vaba ke Asrat” our Degree students participated and Won (Ist,2nd & 3rd prizes).
  • Safoora Maryam won consolation prize for Essay Writing Competitions organized by Glory junior & Degree College on the occasion Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Day Celebration 2021.
