About The Sports
The Department of physical education was established in the year 1962 under the encouragement of Mrs. Saleha Zafar. Though she was a lecturer in the college, she had interest in sports and strived to promote sportive atmosphere in the college. It is due to her efforts that sports became a part of our academic schedule. Later the Department of Physical Education. Was headed by Miss Kenna Prabhu who a lecturer in Physical Education Due to the services was rendered by her, S N Vanita Maha Vidyalaya started producing players at the state and National Level tournaments. She also led the girl’s contingent in the Republic Day parade at New Delhi in the year 1968.
Miss Marilee Reddy joined Miss Kenna D. Souza and shared the workload of intermediate and Degree. Both of them really worked well and complemented each other at work, which resulted in giving great swing to the Sports Department till 1975. Their joint effort managed to produce intercollegiate Volley Ball, Inter University, State and National level champions.
The Year 1975 was really path breaking in the history of S N Vanita Maha Vidyalaya college since it emerged as the runner in the Intercollegiate Volley Ball tournament. This gave a spirit to a lot of other sports and games like volley Ball, Tenni-Koit, and shuttle Badminton.
From the year 1976 the Department of Physical Education was looked after by two physical Directress Mss.Gloria Philips and Mrs.Shaila Prakash Aurangabadkar The year 1976 witnessed cricket taking the College by storm, Major Miss. Kenna Dsouja Prabhu took the initiative and started this game in August 1975. The college team really complimented her support by winning the Shankerji Memorial trophy conducted by Exhibition Society beating women’s college by 94 runs.
Thereafter in the year 1988 Ms.Shaila prakash Aurangabadkar took the assistance of Ms.Chitranjani, under their guidance and encouragement many of our students could reach different levels Ms. Shaila Prakash, Aurangabadkar had been at the helm. Since 1976 and it is a matter o pride and rendered 30 years service in our esteemed institution.
Mrs Vimala Kumari joined the college in july 2011. She is a Graduate from Venkateshwara University, finished B.P.Ed from Government College of Physical Education, Hyderabad, completed M.P.Ed from Jnana Bharathi, Bangalore University M.Phil from, Annamalai University, Madras.

Not only this we train our student in martial arts where they go for self-defense. In that they have Karate, kick boxing Judo wrestling etc. the college has students who hold Yellow, Orange, green and Black belts. We have an instructor in martial arts to take classes for students.

OUTSIDE COMPETITIONS
The college participates at various levels of competition outside college too. In these competitions our college level girls will get selected for National level meets.

Apart from these events we also encourage students to play in the events which are not included in Inter collegiate competitions such as Sepak Takraw, fencing etc.
The students from our college also participated in the games mentioned above are also in the process of making the sport as their career. The college has international player in cross country, Lawn-tennis, Badminton, Karate.
