 Introduction:

Department of Political Science is one of the oldest Departments in the institution existing science the inception of the college. As part of the Social Sciences, Political Science has been one of the popular subjects chosen by the students for a very long time. Since past decade due to the popularity of STEM subjects there has been a decline in the demand for Social Sciences. But nevertheless, it is due to those few aspirants of Civil Servicers or those who are passionate about the subject or few others fearing the STEM subjects do choose Political Science for their study.

Political Science seeks to describe and understand political Phenomena, and to explore their ethical and normative dimensions. Course provide a broad introduction to the range of topics covered in Political Science, from authoritarian to Democratic Politics, from Local Governance to International Relations, from Formal Rules and Institutions to the Psychology and  behavior of individuals who participate in political processes.

Applied politics has always been laden with issues of Governance, welfare, populist policies, vote banks, from voting to protests, trade from citizenship to patriotism to identity, from peace to war, from philosophy to practice.

Political Science is by far one such subject that defies theory to practice. One may like or hate politics but no one can ignore it.
