To meet the ever-increasing demand for higher education of women, the PG course was established in the year 1991, Dr. Amtul Aziz, former Vice-principal and Head of the Department of Zoology took the initiative to establish M.Sc. Zoology, as the Department has several Doctorates in specializations to cater to the Post Graduate students and the required infrastructure to start the course. The following lecturers have rendered their esteemed services for the establishment of M.Sc. Zoology in the college.

M.Sc Zoology was started with Helminthology and Environmental Biology as special papers and Sericulture as an elective. In the year 1994 the demand of Helminthology and Environmental Biology was dispensed and replaced by Fish Biology. Later on in the year 1996 as more number of students were opting for Physiology and as it had better job opportunities, Comparative Animal Physiology was introduced as a special paper and Sericulture as an elective.

Initially 20 students were allotted for the course. In the year 1994 the seats were enhanced to 25+2 (Supernumerary) as there was demand for the course and college was able to provide sufficient infrastructure and sophisticated instruments for practical. Presently the intake of the seats has increased to 30+6. In the year 1994-95 a new P.G Block was built which was inaugurated by Prof. G. Ram Reddy, Chairman of UGC, New Delhi.
