“Library is the heart of any Institution”, rightly said by the former President of India Dr. S. Radha Krishnan. Library is the Temple of any educational or academic institution because it is the spring of wisdom from where all can quench their thirst of knowledge. All the academic works starts from the vast amount of sources kept in the library and it is based on these sources that the work progresses. So anyone with a desire for knowledge can approach library to get it fulfilled. Library exists to disseminate the right information to the right user at the right time.
The department of Library and Information Science aims at Igniting and empowering the young minds to face the burgeoning challenges. Making a humble beginning way back in the year 1962, the department caters to academic and research needs of the faculty and students to facilitate independent learning. The library functions as three interdependent units to suit the requirements of various programs such as UG, PG and MBA.
MBA Library is established in 1995. It stacks a total of 8598 books, 26 National, International journals and periodicals. Six different news Papers caters to the day to day information requirements of the users. The Library has been automated using integrated library management system NEWGENLIB Software and provides online public access catalogue facility through LAN. We have a server and 11 systems with Internet facilities, user can avail this for online access to open resources. Students are issued at one time 7 books and two magazines to home for preparation. All the text books are systematically classified and arranged subject wise. We have open access system which allows the faculty and students to go to shelves and choose the books of their interest.
Apart from the general textbooks, the library has a varied collection of informative, educative and interesting reference books, such as, general and subject encyclopedias. Dictionaries, general as well as subject books, are referred frequently by the students. Books for competitive exams, Personality development and career guidance are also added Students have access to internet and e resources in the library. Some of the e-resources are N-List and DELNET. Staff and students have access to National Digital Library (NDL), directory of open access journals (DOAJ) and directory of open access books (DOAB). Students also can take advantage of the competitive exam books like civil services, UGC-NET and TS-SET, Law SET, GATE, TOEFL and books on personality development etc. in the library.
We are regularly subscribing N-List and DELNET.
N-LIST
N-List is a program that provides In-house/remote access to e-resources like e-journals and e-books of different subjects. It provides access to more then 24372+e-journals (including current issues with 10 years back files) and 2,50,951+ e-books. The N-List provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions.

DELNET
The main objectives of Developing Library Network (DELNET) is to promote resource sharing among the Member-Libraries by collecting, storing and disseminating information and by offering networked library services to users. DELNET is a great boon for faculty, researchers, & students.

NDL
National Digital Library (NDL) is a virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching to that learners can find out the right resource with least effort and in minimum time.

An Orientation Programme was held in the library for students and staff to guide how to make best use of the library facilities. Students and Staff were given information regarding how to use the OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), arrangements of the books on the shelves and library rules.

Book Review and Elocution competitions: To develop reading habits among students we conduct the Book Review and Elocution competitions for MBA students.

Book Exhibition: Book Exhibition was held on 14th-20thNovember 2022. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr, C.Ravi Kumar took part in the exhibition. Wide range of books on various subjects was displayed. Wide publicity was given and the exhibition was open to the UG and PG Students also.
Books relating to Motivational, general and subject are displayed in library. Students flip through the books displayed and were eager to read them and created awareness about their availability in the library.
Guest lecture: On the occasion of the library week, we have arranged a guest lecture on “Resources for Academics”. On 21th November 2022 by Dr Ravi Kumar chegoni. Librarian, City College, Hyderabad. He explained about the availability of free and paid resource, e-journals and e-books to the staff and students, and informed the faculty to motivate students to read the books; He has given examples of importance of reading habit. He said that reading is not just an important professional skill. It is also a way to enjoy informative, creative, and inspiring works of literature that enrich our life experiences.
