HISTORY OF DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE & MANAGEMENT

Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha Vidyalaya started Commerce department in June, 1973 with a strength of 60 students in Intermediate and 30 students in B.Com.

Faculty was financed by the Exhibition Society up to 31^st March, 1978. Government aided the section from 1st April, 1978. The growth of the department is presented below:

CONTRIBUTORS TO THE DEPARTMENT

1. Chennamma Pointy- Retired as HOD in 2005.

• • She sponsored a cash prize of 1000/- for the best student of commerce from the year 2008

2.      Dr. Saroj Jain- Retired as the Principal of S.N.V.M.V in December 2009.

• • She was involved in University Translation works.
  • She is a life member of many social organizations contributing to the community services.
  • She rendered additional services as chief Warden of S.N.V.M.V Hostel.

3. CH. Jayashree was appointed on 16-8-1983 Grant in Aid with effect from 16-4-1990 Resources Person on SEZ – Relevance in India in Indian economy organized on 27-8-2008 by K.G college

• • Nominated to the Board of Studies RBVRR college on 21-4-2011
  • Nominated as Subject Expert APOSS, AP in 2011
  • Reviewed a book on Business Law Published by Pearson.

4. Anagha Deshmukh Retired as HOD on 31-1-2022

• • She was a member of a placement committee, Criteria 2 Coordinator and a member of Anti Ragging committee
  • Received Best Teacher Award on 9-9-2023 Honored by Indian Red Cross Society
