Chairman’s Desk

Hello and welcome to Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha Vidyalaya! For nearly 60 years, students have been entering the portals of this college as teenagers and leaving as fine and confident young women. Many have spread their wings risen high and flown far and wide after graduating. They now look back fondly at the years spent here.
On our part, as Management, we have endeavored to nurture and provide opportunity to every
student to excel in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. The teaching and support staff have dedicated themselves to bring the best out of students. The intellectual and material resources that are available to students will be described in detail in the later sections, but it suffices to say here that we are richly endowed with teachers, technology and infrastructure.
Sarojini Naidu Vanita Maha Vidyalaya has produced a fair share of hands-on professionals – such as scientists, doctors, lawyers, engineers and charted accountants – as well as administrators and civil servants. A few have also risen to occupy ministerial berths in government and positions of high office in politics! We are very proud of them as much as they are fond of us. While any educational institution would welcome the boldest and brightest students, we endeavor to nurture the meek and weak too. We believe in the adage “Educate a Girl and you Educate a Family”. So, we do our best to ensure that no student discontinues studies at our college, especially because of financial reasons. To help us in our endeavor, our teachers and alumnae have made a modest monetary contribution to nurture financially needy students through scholarships and partial fee subsidy.
On a personal note, it is my experience that a student flourishes and performs beyond normal
expectations if she is allowed to study the subject of her choice, without any constraints. The Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) introduced recently is one welcome step in this direction. On my part, I have insisted upon the teachers and counsellors here to help you find your true calling and make appropriate choices. I encourage you to draw upon and make the best use of their knowledge and experience. 
To the parents reading this message, I would like to say ‘admit your child here, and 2, 3, 5 or 7 years later you can take back a fine young woman with a well-rounded education. Our offering of Intermediate, Degree and PG Courses under one roof makes sure of that. If you are from outside of Hyderabad, our excellent hostel facilities make sure that your child’s stay in Hyderabad is safe, secure and well nourished’. To the students thinking of joining here, I say ‘welcome once again and wish you an educative, fun filled, rewarding and memorable learning experience at this college’.
